I thought you might be interested to know that a Bill has been filed in the Kentucky General Assembly which would require the Kentucky Public Service Commission to promulgate regulations requiring all wireless cellular towers in the state to be equipped with emergency generators within one year of the effective date of the legislation.  This Bill will be considered in the current session of the Kentucky General Assembly.

The Bill would also require providers of wireless service to refund any and all payments billed during a declared state of emergency in which more than two counties in the Commonwealth lost wireless capabilities.  Once again, the Kentucky Public Service Commission would be charged with the responsibility of developing regulations to give effect to this proposed legislative change.
